It was a pleasant journey and I would love to share my travelling experience accompanied with Jagat Travels team.
Our trip started from Jammu at 8 am in the morning. Just we completed 15 kms we came across a toll Plaza in Ban. After passing toll plaza we went by four tunnels. Fourth tunnel is the largest one. After tunnels journey on the right side you can see Trikuta mountains where the holy shrine of Vaishnodevi is located. Wee had tea and Pakodas with Anardana Chutney, a popular sauce in the locality.
Sudhmahadev and Mantalai is in Chenani tehsil of Udhampur district. It is 36 kms from famous resort of Patnitop. When we reached Chenani we decided to go to Mantalai. Mantalai is a place where Maa Parvati born and married to Lord Shiva.
The main shrine is small and having an idol of Maa Parvati in Kanya Roop. Also black natural marble Lingam is in temple. There are also two idols of Nandi. Also there is ashram of Late Dhirandra Brahmachari which is spread over 1008 canals with private airstrips. After spending some time in Mantalai then we move towards Sudhmahadev.
Believed to be 2800 years old, the temple of Sudh Mahadev houses a natural black marble Lingam, the Trishul of Lord Shiva and Mace believed to be that of Bheema, one of the five legendary Pandava brothers. This holy temple is situated at an altitude of 1225m and is about 120 kms from Jammu.
In this spiritual journey we spent 4 to 5 hours and came back to Jammu keeping timeless memories with us.
