Gondola Ride is the upcoming best and popular travel attractions in Jammu. I was longing for enjoying this great adventure, and thanks to my cousin who called me and told about the Bahu Ropeway (Bahu to Mahamaya Station), We made a quick plan.
This will take half an hour to reach there. There is a lot of parking space there. We parked our cars and then we moved towards the ticket counter. Currently all ticketing work is being done manually.
The timings for the ropeway is 10AM to 5 PM, But the last ride closed at 4 PM. The Jammu cable car project consisted of two sections, Bahu to Mahamaya Park and Mahamaya Park to Jambavan Cave, But now only one phase is working i.e from Bahu to Mahamaya park.
What is the Best Way to Travel – Self Drive Car or Affordable Taxi Service?
There are four to five cabins in this section , 3 or 4 persons are allowed in one cabin. It takes around 5 minutes to reach from one side to the other side. Mahamaya park is on top of the hill from where you can see the Panoramic view of Jammu city. There is a restaurant but yet to start.
After spending some time in the park and having some pictures with family , we moved towards Mahamaya temple. After a 15 minutes walk we reached Mahamaya temple. On the way we met with Vanarsena of Hanuman Ji. This temple is dedicated to a female freedom fighter called Mahamaya who belonged to the Dogra community. The temple location is awesome. Temple is situated on a hilltop where you can see the panoramic view of the whole jammu city. After performing Darshan we came back to the Mahamaya park and from there we took a cable car to reach Bahu. The visit to Mahamaya temple on the hill through cable car is an experience to explore on heights nature and sight to Jammu city.
Bahu ropeway is emerging as the new identity for Jammu and is among top 10 to-do things in Jammu City.
